Marc Newson geht zum Apple Design Team
Laut Vanity Fair wurde Marc Newson in das Apples Design-Team geholt und gehört somit zum Team um Senior Vice President für Design Jonathan Ive, mit dem er schon lange befreundet ist. Beide zusammen sammelten bei Bonos AIDS-Charity 1,68 Millionen Dollar. Der australische Industrie-Designer hat schon Autos, Brillen, Fahrräder, Wasserhähne, Möbel und Kameras gestaltet. Seine Arbeit ist im MoMA archiviert und er hatte Aufträge von Ford, Nike, und Qantas Airways. Ein Interview-Video von Bono, Marc Newson und Jonathan Ive aus dem letzten Jahr nach dem Break.
“Marc is without question one of the most influential designers of this generation,” sagte Ive in einer Erklärung an VF. “He is extraordinarily talented. We are particularly excited to formalize our collaboration as we enjoy working together so much and have found our partnership so effective.”
“I’m full of admiration and respect for the extraordinary design work that has been produced by Jony and the team at Apple,” sagte Newson. “My close friendship with Jony has not only given me a unique insight into that process, but the opportunity to work together with him and the people that have been responsible. I am enormously proud to join them.”
